Giving 5 ⭐ for Vicious (and Victor) couldn't be easier! I was hooked right from the beginning until the last page. It's a story if 5 morally grey characters, and none of them is a typical good guy hero (what is new, and so amazing!) The whole story unfolds in flashbacks. I loved the hectic timeline, the past and the present flashes fast, and it's perfectly unfolding the whole story.
Two of the main characters are Victor & Eli , both of them self-made EO's. The problem is with EO-s, that they never come back full themselves, something is missing from them...
My absolute favourite is Victor and his group. Loved the gentle giant Mitch and Syd with his dog. I know loads of readers adored Eli as well, although I couldn't connect with him... His mission, and his reasons why he is doing it... He is so much worse than Victor!
My favourite quote not gonna surprise anyone here:
" Someone could call themselves a hero and still walk around killing dozens. Someone else could be labelled a villain for trying to stop them. Plenty of humans were monstrous, and plenty of monsters knew how to play being human. "

What a book!!! Damn, this had everything I lover about Vicious, and much more! While Vicious was fantastic, this is a masterpiece. Hands down it's one of my most loved book of the year, hell, of my life! Victor Vale is one of the most interesting and complex character (sociopath) I've come across. All those anti-heroes fascinate me! Like the previous book, this also goes back and forth in the timeline and in between with different perspectives. Some other writer may made it confusing, Schwab pull it out perfectly without giving a whiplash. As the past races alongside present, the tension increase and all pieces come together in an epic ending! (Please, pleeease we need a 3rd book)
The only tiny bit of a complain I had, is that I don't have enough Victor and the original gang. I don't say I didn't enjoy Marcella's or June's perspective (I really did), but there was not enough of Victor, Syd, Mitch & Dominik. But again it was a positive that we had a flash backs on Eli's childhood. How he went (learned to be) from a quiet weirdo to handsome and friendly, basically how the psychopath grown up.
